ARTICLE I – NAME

Section 1. The name of this organization shall be the Ohio Valley Rex Rabbit Club.

ARTICLE II – PURPOSE

Section 1. The purpose of this organization shall be to promote the Rex rabbit breed; support the American Rabbit Breeders Association (ARBA) and the National Rex Rabbit Club (NRRC); promote youth education; and encourage active participation among its membership.

ARTICLE III – AFFILIATION

Section 1. This organization shall be affiliated with the American Rabbit Breeders Association (ARBA) and the National Rex Rabbit Club (NRRC).

ARTICLE IV – GEOGRAPHIC AREA

Section 1. The geographic area of this organization shall include Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia.

ARTICLE V – DISSOLUTION

Section 1. In the event of dissolution of the Club, all remaining funds shall be donated to the NRRC Youth Scholarship Fund.

ARTICLE I – NAME

Section 1. The name of this organization shall be the Ohio Valley Rex Rabbit Club, hereafter referred to as the "Club."

ARTICLE II – MEMBERSHIP

Section 1. Membership shall be open to Open and Youth members.

Section 2. Youth membership shall be defined as any individual capable of placing a rabbit on the show table who has not reached their nineteenth (19th) birthday.

Section 3. Voting privileges shall be granted to members thirteen (13) years of age and older.

Section 4. Honorary members may be nominated and elected by a two-thirds (2/3) majority vote of the membership.

ARTICLE III – DUES

Section 1. Annual dues shall be $5.00 for Open members, $2.00 for Youth members, and $8.00 for Family and/or Rabbitry memberships.

Section 2. Membership fees shall be due on January 1 of each year. Members not paid by February 28 shall be dropped from membership.

Section 3. New members joining during the final quarter of the calendar year shall be covered for the following calendar year.

ARTICLE IV – MEETINGS

Section 1. Regular meetings shall be held twice annually, typically in the spring and fall.

Section 2. Seven (7) members shall constitute a quorum for the transaction of business.

Section 3. The order of business shall be: roll call; reading of minutes of the previous meeting; treasurer's report; secretary's report; reading of communications and bills; elections of members; unfinished business; new business; and adjournment.

Section 4. Robert's Rules of Order shall govern the parliamentary procedure of this Club.

ARTICLE V – ELECTIONS

Section 1. All officers and directors shall serve two-year terms.

Section 2. Elections shall be completed at the fall membership meeting.

Section 3. Voting shall be conducted by mail ballot for members not in attendance. Mail balloting shall open two (2) weeks prior to the fall meeting.

Section 4. Members in attendance at the fall meeting may vote by voice vote.

Section 5. The Vice President and Secretary shall comprise the Election Committee and shall be responsible for counting and certifying all votes.

ARTICLE VI – BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Section 1. The Board of Directors shall consist of a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, three (3) Directors, and one (1) Youth Director.

Section 2. All Board members must be current members of ARBA and NRRC, be active members of the Club, and attend at least one (1) of the two (2) annual meetings.

Section 3. Any officer removed voluntarily or due to violation of Club rules shall have the vacancy filled by secret ballot of the Executive Committee, except the office of President, which shall be filled by the Vice President.

ARTICLE VII – OFFICERS

Section 1. The President shall preside at all meetings, act as Chairman of the Board, appoint all regular and special committees, and appoint an editor to create a bi-annual newsletter.

Section 2. The Vice President shall perform the duties of the President in their absence.

Section 3. The Secretary shall conduct official Club correspondence; notify members of meetings; maintain membership records; collect annual dues; remit dues to the Treasurer; and provide new members with a copy of the Constitution and Bylaws.

Section 4. The Treasurer shall issue a financial report at each meeting; publish financial reports in the Club newsletter; and maintain a minimum balance of one hundred dollars ($100.00) in the Club checking account.

Section 5. The Directors and Youth Director shall attend membership meetings and participate in discussion, ideas, and official Board of Directors voting.

ARTICLE VIII – SHOW SANCTIONS AND SWEEPSTAKES

Section 1. Specialty shows sponsored by the Club may be held within the Club's geographic area.

Section 2. ARBA sanctioned shows shall not affiliate with the Club unless they have also obtained NRRC sanction.

Section 3. Sweepstakes sanctions shall be awarded to shows that have obtained ARBA and NRRC sanction and have paid the appropriate sweepstakes fee.

Section 4. Sweepstakes points shall be maintained on a calendar-year basis.

ARTICLE IX – AMENDMENTS

Section 1. These Bylaws may be amended by a majority vote of the membership present at any regular meeting.
